I went to Lisa's yesterday to work on those posters...it was unbelievable! We have so much in common and we've had some similar experiences in the recent past...it's like meeting a long lost sister again for the first time! It was so cool how well we clicked.

We've almost got the posters done - just the blurbs and finishing touches are left. We had a slow start but once we got momentum going, there was no stopping us.

I thought that I would try this for some paintings for the Expo - using masking tape to connect some notecards together and painting them as one large painting and then remove the tape. I'm thinking of using the same techniques that were used for the color paintings (Red, Blue, Yellow, etc.). Hopefully, the effect will be that I will get several small paintings from one. Actually, I think that it will go well.

One thing that kind of surprised me was that Lisa is pretty much in the same boat as I am - just starting on a new path artwise, looking for her niche (and in some ways, her own style) and pretty much frustrated with it all. Here I thought she was some big, well-off, successful thing and she only made the decision to go with her art full time in the last year - as well as go off on another track with it. She had been doing watercolors - natural objects, such as tiger lilies, Queen Anne's Lace and such. She said that it just didn't resonate with her soul anymore - and I completely understand what she's saying. As the saying goes, Been There, Done That. What I've seen of her work lately though is wonderful - more abstract. More power to her if she can do abstracts - I've never gotten the hang of them. I suppose it's nothing to worry over, though.

It was so nice to be around someone who completely understands where I come from and also not having to keep watch on what I say. I knew there were more of us out there!
