I've just gotten back from a fantastic artist date ~ I went to the Tennessee State Fair. Saw all the sights (literally); got a henna tattoo, went to the petting zoo and took in the concert of a life time.
Here's a (VERY) rough copy of my henna tat. The 'arms' of the sun are actually wavy, but I couldn't quit get the effect at the moment with PSP: I am in heaven at the moment. It took me a while to get the hang of the layout of the fair ~ it had to be the most spread out thing in the world. I'm also firmly convinced that they took a survey of all the hills in the area and put the fairgrounds on the highest one. I got one heck of a workout, just from walking up and down that damn hill. You had to go up it to get to the exhibitor's hall; down it to get to the midway, back up to go the grandstand and down again to get to the parking lot. My legs feel as if they are about to fall off. I spent quite a while in the petting zoo ~ which at the time I was there, should have been called the 'feeding zoo'. I bought a bag of carrots for a dollar to feed to the animals ~ there were some greedy ones there! Two nubian goats vied for the next handout by trying to outclimb each other on the fence and one of the suffolk sheep simply muzzled the other out of the way. Some of the animals didn't want to be there, though ~ the highland calf was especially sad looking. He shouldn't have been there, in my opinion. |
