Sheesh - at this rate, we may as well kiss those morning pages goodbye...(I almost typed mourning pages) I don't know if I'm really resistant to the whole damn thing or if I've just journalled so much, on and off line, that I've fallen into my own little pattern here. Whatever - I'm not going to worry about it so much. I've got my earl grey tea with milk and sugar and I'm settled in now to journal.
(Wow! wolf howls just 'erupted' on tv...I love that sound!)
Today was a fairly busy day - I finally got around to winterizing some of the herbs. I also put out the german chamomile to see if it would do better in the ground than it did in that pot. Turns out, it was very nearly pot bound. I guess it just didn't feel like showing its face to the world this summer. I know the feeling. I didn't want to show my face to the world this summer, either.
I put the chamomile with the soapwort, golden marguerite, yarrow and mystery plant. They all seem to be doing pretty well - the yarrow and mystery plant have put out many new shoots. I tried to place the straw where the new shoots could still get sun and be protected from the cold both. We'll see how it works.
Jean-Claude decided that he was going to help me while I was digging the hole for the chamomile. He was the project supervisor and official dirt clod (is there a pun here?) roller. He also tested the water coming out of the hose to make sure that it wasn't flowing too fast (in other words, he played with it). Like most supervisors, he managed to get in the way more than he helped. The other cats, Kitt included, couldn't have cared much less.
The horse named Pig came over to see what was going on as well. He watched with great interest - it's almost as if he's learned a variation on the great cat physics principle, "Watch the refrigerator door long enough and something good is bound to happen." In this case, it seems to be, "Watch the human long enough and something good to eat is bound to head this way." I kind of wish he were my horse - I wouldn't mind having an appaloosa at all. I wouldn't mind having a great many kinds of horses at all...
It would seem that it's happened again. I have fallen into the superwoman syndrome that tells me that I can do everything - before Monday. I finally resigned from doing the weekly chat on dreams because I didn't have the time to do a proper job preparing for it. Not long at all after that, what did I do? I said that I would write an article on the interpretation of Jumping Mouse, finish the second poster (well, that has until Thursday), and make a banner for James' web page. I committed myself to having the article and the banner tomorrow. Oh boy, what have I done?
Gee - this is good tea. I'll have to buy more of it.
I've just got to get a handle on this thing where I keep volunteering to do all this stuff. I'm overwhelming myself with it all. (Granted, in one case, I did negotiate for the first-born two or three lifetimes from now...lol)
I think that I'm going to have to go out and get another part-time job. I could really need the money. I hate to even think about doing that, though. It just makes me go quesy. I really need to plan out what I want to happen in the next few years. Life is like a business. Successful businesses have a plan for the immediate year and 5 years. Otherwise, they just spin their wheels (look at AB Tales - can you say, lucky to still be running??)
Let's face it. I don't want to go back to working for someone else. I want to be fully solvent and independent. I have to tackle my own fears, misgivings and lack of faith in myself and just do it. I should do the same for where I'm going with the matter of my faith. Should, should, should. it would be nice to solidify some of my own beliefs and tenets on that count - but should is a four letter word now.
I did get an act of synchronicity yesterday. I noticed that the delivery person delivered the wrong kind of paper for the copiers - it was the pre-punched kind with three holes -and I asked if I could possibly get a ream for myself, since they try to keep it out of the copiers as much as they can. Well, turns out that they didn't know that the wrong kind of paper was delivered and it can't be returned. I ended up with four reams of the stuff! Yes! Paper for months!!
