Boy...we went from 65 degree weather to 20 degree in one day! It's wonderful - I finally don't feel like I'm pushing my way through melted marshmellow cream!! :::doing a happy dance:::

I was supposed to go into Nashville today but the roads were just too bad. I think so far we have gotten about a half inch of solid ice. We made it as far as Portland before we stopped at a grocery store and came back to the house. The rest of the day has been spent painting and fiddling with the Sculpy...with which I got very fed up with because I couldn't get anything out of it. Perhaps I was trying to dictate again instead of letting the stuff talk to me.

I don't know if we'll get out tomorrow either. I had planned to go get my paraffin, crayons and wicks to make my (newly) traditional Christmas Eve hand dipped candles. I thought that I would make some for L.,E. and also the year's supply of altar candles. Looks like that plan is on hold until the ice is gone.

I feel like I've been running for the last two days - which, essentially, I have. Monday I spent in Nashville first at the Communications Committee meeting at the Peaceful Planet (I love that place - especially the shiitake mushroom salad dressing and the kibbee) and later online getting my mail...and chatting on ICQ...and of course Monday was Yule - which I didn't get to celebrate in the way that I wanted...damn.

Yesterday was spent riding around looking at all the lights (on houses...not in the sky...lol) and shopping on the Square in Lebanon. The only thing I bought was a copy of Anne Rice's The Vampire Lestat, of which the propriator of the establishment proclaimed as being disgusting. I didn't quibble about it - it was marked at being half of the price marked, which was all of two dollars. We also drove through Gallatin, Hendersonville and Goodlettesville. My kender wanderlust was satiated for the moment...

We stopped at this one place on Hwy 109 - it was incredible! There wasn't a tree that didn't have lights on it. There were also all kinds of scenes set up - Santa; carolers, the navity...I liked the sailboat the was in the middle of the pond with the sail of lights. There was even music with the display - it was Elvis. It was just incredible...that's all I can say.

Kitt and I also began playing an old game again - it's the one where we each stand on opposite sides of a door and play through the crack where the hinges are. On this go-around, I dangle a bit of ribbon and I think you can figure out the rest. Occasionally, Kitt changes the rules on me and comes around to my side of the door to catch that darn ribbon...I still think that's cheating...or perhaps it's a 'Calvin and Hobbes' type of game.

I think that's it for tonight - I just wanted to catch up. See you tomorrow, Sweetie.
