Hmmm...four days into my food diary and I've already had a tantrum. Yesterday was totally shot, I didn't even write anything down. Here's today's though - the tantrum continues.
Food diary for today -
- turkey sandwich -
- two slices wheat bread
- four slices of lean turkey
- mayonaise
- slice of american cheese
- deep fried onion rings
- chili -
- crackers
- slice of american cheese
- dollop of sour cream
- some pepsi - don't remember how much for sure
Can you say..."blob"?
All that aside, it turned out to be a fairly busy day. I worked on those posters for E. and finished up some of the candles that I started way back when - and began two new colors.
I wasn't too sure about how these two new colors would turn out. I'm using RoseArt crayons for color and I've noticed that they don't seem to have the same quality control that Crayola does. So far, I've had several, several different colors that I would have three sticks of - and three different shades, no matter what the wrapper said. In any case, it sure makes for interesting surprises in the paraffin.
The most interesting event of the day was the freak thunderstorm we had - complete with hail and tornado warnings. It sprung up very fast and left the same way...it makes me wonder if something - or someone didn't touch it off. Probably not since it reportedly began in the mid-west but it is rare that one would hold together that well with that much intensity for so long. It's also not tornado season here - that doesn't occur until March. In any case, you can believe that I did some heavy shielding when it began to get really rough. It was so rough that the front door (a fairly sturdy wooden one) almost pushed me out of the way when I went to let Kitt in and the hail was hitting the front windows - which never happens since they are protected by the wide porch, which means that I did see right when it looked like the rain was horizontal.
I can feel it coming. I can feel it with my entire body. I call to the storm as if it is a lover whose intimate embrace I have been waiting forever for. Thunder crashes with abandon as our combined energies rise in intensity. Lightening strikes nearby and hail begins to rain down as we reach our peak all too soon...
Ah - one thing from yesterday. We went to a local car lot and looked at this little silver Mitusbishi truck with a straight shift. It looks good and everything in the cab worked but we didn't test drive it since it was getting so close to closing time plus we wanted to see if the credit would come through (which I kind of have my doubts - but I'm hopeful. Time for a few spells to push things to my favor, hmm?). C.M. was giving me all kinds of grief - mostly because of one little incident that happened over 13 years ago. It was my first time driving a straight shift and I forgot to let off the clutch. So...I left some impressive skid marks and stopped about three feet away from a brick wall. Hey - it was my first time!
Tomorrow is the first day of class for me this session - it's supposed to be the third in actuality. I can't believe it's been a whole month since I was in last in class. I'm beginning to have some reservations about this place - the classes are fine but beyond that, I'm holding my opinion. I want to make sure that my observation are valid and not resistance based. We'll see. Right now, I just want to go to class and not really have much else to do - if only to sit back and watch. Besides, I've got artwork that I have to do. I've been putting it off for entirely too long.
Anyway...I think that's it for now. Good night, Sweetie.
