Latest Reading: none at the moment

Here's something I hadn't heard about:

There is a prayer meeting every Thursday out on Hillsboro road in Nashville. It seems that back in June, construction workers uncovered a Native burial ground while they were working to widen the road. Work immediately stopped...but nothing else was done either. Natives want the graves left alone and of course, the workers want them moved. Now the area is an ugly mess with mud and destruction. Local Native Americans and supporters meet on Thursdays to pray and it would seem that the people that live in the area are tired of the whole thing.

I've got an idea - why don't we go out to Mount Olivet and dig everyone up and put in another Walgreens? How about some fancy restaurant with a 'Important People of Nashville History' theme since so many of them are buried there?

Well, the Southern Baptists are at it again.

During the December holidays last year, the whole bunch decided that Jewish people were on the wrong track and had to be saved from themselves. They launched into a huge campaign during one of the most important holidays on the Jewish calendar.

Now they're going after the Hindus.

According to what was said tonight, they want to save these people from the 'hopeless darkness that is Hinduism.' Oh please - who died and made them authorities on the subject???

I cannot stand such close - minded tactics. They may as well say that if you don't eat pineapple, you're going to hell. It makes absolutely no sense at all. Were do people get these ridiculous ideas that they are the spirit police?? It reminds of the time I was waiting to get into the KISS concert and the strange guy gave me some religious tract and told me that I needed them...

I guess that's what gets me the most. Perfect strangers who set out to tell the world that is wrong because the world doesn't think like them.

aarrrggghhh....
