Here's something I hadn't heard about:
There is a prayer meeting every Thursday out on Hillsboro road in Nashville. It seems that back in June, construction workers uncovered a Native burial ground while they were working to widen the road. Work immediately stopped...but nothing else was done either. Natives want the graves left alone and of course, the workers want them moved. Now the area is an ugly mess with mud and destruction. Local Native Americans and supporters meet on Thursdays to pray and it would seem that the people that live in the area are tired of the whole thing.
I've got an idea - why don't we go out to Mount Olivet and dig everyone up and put in another Walgreens? How about some fancy restaurant with a 'Important People of Nashville History' theme since so many of them are buried there? |
