I finally laid Charlie to rest in the compost pile today. I hated to do it but I didn't exactly want to keep a corpse around either. As it was, he was hollowed out ~ yesterday, as the sun shone on him I noticed that ants were walking around inside. Sheesh. He was the first cactus I bought ~ I'm going to miss my 'old man'. I suppose if I need to blame anyone for his death, I could always blame Martha Stewart ~ Charlie was in one of her pots.
Now that I don't need it, I found an 8 inch cake pan today...after I've already baked the cake. Oh well, I suppose I can use it next time.
I was going to take a walk around the track at my old 'stomping grounds' today ~ but things have changed so much at Vol State that I couldn't even tell if the walking track was still there! Granted, it's been 10 years since I was there last. I suppose a few things were bound to change...
I also picked up an application for some seasonal work today. I've decided that I work much better when I have some contact with people. I only want to do it part time ~ more than that will definitely get in the way of my artwork.
