Quotes of the day:
"Why is it that everytime I hear you talk I think of cherry blossoms and naked people?"
~ a student in my english comp class upon hearing a story from another student who is a former Buddhist.
"Are you going to that naked drawing class?"
~ what someone in my Drawing II class was asked today
My god. I don't remember having to do so much damn work the last time I was in college. I've got a grid project and reading assignment to finish for 2D class; a skeleton project to finish for Drawing II so I can move on to the muscle project, another reading assignment and essay revision for English Comp and more design sketches for West Side Story. I feel as if I may never have another moment of free time again. I may as well just move into a corner of one of the studios and get it over with.
I stayed up until 3:30 am this morning, trying to get my project for Drawing II finished and didn't make it. I had to start over from scratch when I discovered that the poor soul had quite a problem with his pelvis leaning toward the right and his spine going the other way. As it was, my skeleton ended up looking like an unfortunate victim of both ancient Arab and British justice ~ no hands or head. I don't know why I worried so damn much about it since I was only one of four to turn the assignment in at all and mine was the most complete. The other three people simply did an outline of a skeleton and mine had all kinds of shading and texture. The assignment said that there should be 95 to 100% accuracy and by the gods, that's what I gave it. I about killed myself and wore my arm to a nub but I did it.
I keep saying that I'm not going to do the work til morning thing again. I'm tired of doing it every other day.
I'm going to try and get as much as I can done before Sunday. Can you imagine it ~ trying to do homework and catch all the commercials during the Superbowl? Sheesh. At least the grid project is finished for the moment ~ we had to choose a letter or a number as well as make a 4x4 grid on illustration board. Then make no more than two cuts into our letters or numbers to make shapes from them. Each square on the grid is a separate design but they all have to make one big harmonious design as well. All I can say at this point is, "AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!"
This entry is going to have to be a short entry. I'm tired with only about two or three hours sleep. I even caught myself spacing out several times today.
Oh yeah...one more note before I go ~ I've had someone join the webring! Her journal website is pretty cool. I think my favorite title that I ran across was 'Cheerleaders for Satan' :::snicker:::
