Looks like I will finally get started on carving some staffs now ~ I found a sharpening stone today. By the looks of it, those chisels have never seen such a thing before and edges on the things were not much more than a pipe dream before I got hold of them.
The wood I have for the staves ought to be well cured out by now ~ they've been sitting on the porch for how long? 6 months? Something like that. I have some ideas for them ~ I want to try sculpting the staff into something different, like the sketch.
Of course, it's going to have to be much sturdier than it appears in the rough sketch but I think I can get it to work. There's one staff out there that will be a great bear staff; another a water staff. I don't know about the rest. I haven't had any more to speak to me.
Another Idea:
Yeah ~ I think these can work out. I forgot about one: the moon staff. I've only got a few glimpses it in my head but it's there. Maybe I should work on it first ~ it's a bit simpler with circles; half circles and crescents on it.
You know, I think that's it for now. I'm hot and tired and just not in the mood to sit in front of this damn computer anymore today.
