CD of the moment: Wish by the Cure. My favorite one so far! Bought it two days ago and almost wore it out already.
Book of the moment: Sandman: Book of Dreams, edited by Neil Gaiman and some other dude. Neil Gaiman. Nothing else needs to be said.
What a day. I was going to go out and do get sketches of some of the more interesting buildings around here but instead, I started cleaning the studio. I thought it was supposed to be sunny but Mother Nature decided that rain was the order of the day. Maybe that's a good thing ~ it's that time of the month (it's a little early. It usually doesn't visit until the dark of the moon.) and with nothing to eat but a Boca burger, a Boca sausage (their version of a hotdog) and 4 cups of tea, it's no wonder I'm feeling wonky. Good thing we're stocked up on toilet paper.
Life can continue though ~ I've had my 'Trip fix'. Good god, I wish Charles Tucker were real and I had a shot at him! I suppose I can dream. Right now, he's at the top of the snog list and the only fictional character...Robert Smith is on there too (let it be Friday everyday!) Hehehehe How long has it been since I've had that dream about Robert? I'll have to see. I remember it almost as if it were yesterday...here it is!
On a related note, what I said about Connor Trinneer and Charles Tucker in the 2/22 entry must be true. I realized later that I couldn't even get Connor's name right in the URL address. I called him 'Colin'!
Now then, let's get off this estrogen coaster...
Yesterday was a thrill fest (let me pour on a little more sarcasm there): English Comp class consisted of going to a conference in the auditorium about the state of Higher Education in Tennessee. Two state politicians were there: Diane Black and some guy with the last name of Areola, which led to a few rude thoughts about a certain part of the human anatomy. They spent most of their time speaking about TennCare instead of education and about halfway through, I pulled out my sketchpad and drew one of the plants (an absolutely huge peace lily) on stage. Rude but appropriate, in my book. There are two things I can say for sure about this event: Same bullshit, different speakers and the free pizza was great.
There's two things I have to say about the state budget:
1. Trim just a few of the perks that the lawmakers have written in for themselves and that will go a long way to helping the situation. The first thing to go ought to be that 25 million for mowing golf courses in resorts under state control (meaning that they are in state parks). If some idiot wants to bat a little ball around several acres of land, then let him pay for it.
2. Play 'Apocolyse' and tear it all down. Start from scratch. (Yeah, that's feasible.)
I still think that there are some good points to Anarchism ~ but as usual, there's too much in that doctrine that I don't agree with as well. I guess C.M. was right when I described my thoughts on the subject ~ I'm just an opportunist. I'm perfectly fine with that.
Damn, that Trip's one mighty fine man!
